I completed two years of my college education after school education with great difficulty due to various illnesses. I was not that much good with Mathematics and hence I had to suffer hard to pass the examination. I don’t know what happened but I got less marks in Mathematics. However, I managed to pass with a second class.
I told my parents that I will not be able to study Mathematics again. Hence, I would like to join some other course other than the science stream for the Degree course. I joined commerce degree course through distance education. I was not sure how I will be able to learn from home. But the university provided all the required materials which helped me to secure good marks. Moreover, I also joined a local tuition center for assistance.
After successful completion of Degree course, I joined Masters Course. However, I could not complete the course since I became unwell during the midway of second year. I was operated for Appendicitis and also suffered several problems related to Pancreas. My pancreas got inflamed and I had to be hospitalized for several months. At that time, I was also doing Company Secretary Course. I completely forgot all the topics I have learned. However, I attempted the examinations but could not pass out certain papers.
I was very sad since I don’t know what will happen to my future. My friends told me to attempt examinations again but I was not in a position to continue. I was interested in another field other than Commerce.
I used to buy both English and Malayalam newspapers. One day, I saw an advertisement that a new computer center has been opened in a location nearby my house. I listened to what my heart told.
I visited the computer center and interacted with the staff there. I got impressed with the facilities there and joined a short term course in Java to begin with. I completed the course successfully without any difficulty. In the meantime, I extended the computer course and joined E-commerce course. I completed the course without any problems and got certificate as well.
I was interested in teaching. After completion, I applied for a computer faculty job and got appointment in a computer center. I handed over my first month salary to my father and he became very happy. My Grandfather also told me to work well. I would not have got the teaching job if I had not joined the computer course.
I did what my heart told and it made my parents happy.
