Microsoft has announced that Windows 10 will be officially released on July 29 for PCs and tablets. The release news was conveyed by Cortana, the personal digital assistant available in Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone. If you have access to a PC running Windows 10 Insider Preview then you will be able to hear what Cortana says.
Windows 10 will be available for PCs, tablets, phones in addition to Windows for the Internet of Things, Microsoft Surface Hub, Xbox One and Microsoft HoloLens. Windows 10 also brings back the popular Start menu and is designed to boot faster and quicker than the previous counterparts. The operating system also ships with Windows Defender, which is used to protect your PC from malwares and spywares.
In addition to Cortana, Windows 10 will have Microsoft Edge browser, Office 2016 support, Xbox Live, integrated Xbox App, new apps for Photos, Videos, Music, Maps, People, Mail & Calendar. Windows 10 will also include Windows Continuum, Hello and Store. The edge browser will have features for social sharing, commenting and new reading view which enable users to read web sites faster.
