IIT JAM Application Process
To appear for IIT JAM exam, you need to apply online. The process was started on September 2, 2016 and closed on October 13, 2016. If you had applied for the exam, you can download the admit cards from January 10, 2017 onwards. The IIT JAM exam will be conducted in online mode in two separate sessions on February 12, 2017. The results will be declared on March 27, 2017.
Even though IIT Delhi is the organizing Institute for IIT JAM 2017, the verification of defective documents will be conducted at IIT Madras on May 10, 2017. The institute will publish the first, second and third admission list on June 2, June 20 and July 3 respectively.
IIT JAM Admit Card
The admit card for the IIT JAM 2017 examination can be downloaded till the date of the exam on February 12. You need to visit the official website and enter the Enrollment ID and Password. You then need to click on the link to download the Admit Card of JAM 2017. We would suggest you to print the IIT JAM 2017 Admit Card so that you can carry it to the exam venue.
IIT JAM Exam Centers
The IIT JAM 2017 examination is conducted across 64 cities in India. They are divided by the respective zones. However, you can mention three choices of the IIT JAM 2017 exam center in the IIT JAM application form.
IIT JAM Examination
The IIT JAM 2017 consists of 7 papers carried out in two time slots. The exam is conducted in an online mode. Hence, you will have to appear for the exam through a computer based test. The total time for the exam is 3 hours with 3 sections. There will be 60 questions in English, which carry 100 marks. The 7 papers in IIT JAM consist of Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics and Physics.
The Section A consists of 30 multiple choice questions with a weightage of one or two marks. If you look at Section B, it will have 10 questions, which carry 2 marks each. The Section C features 20 questions with a weightage of one or two marks.

IIT JAM Cut-off
To seek admission, you need to cross the cut off mark as fixed by the IIT JAM 2017 exam board. The cut off is generated after the declaration of the results. If you secured the cut off mark, you need to complete the IIT JAM 2017 admission form.
IIT JAM Counselling Process
You will be eligible to participate in the counselling process if you scored the cut off mark. You need to complete the IIT JAM 2017 Admission Form to seek admission to various courses in IISc, Bangalore and IITs. You need to pay Rs. 600 for the form through E-challan mode since only cash transfer is accepted. The final step is to upload the SBI-stamped JAM copy of the E-Challan in JPEG/PDF format.
