Microsoft has added new updates and improvements to Internet Explorer. It includes series of improvements to Enterprise Mode Site List, which enables enterprises to specify the document mode in which to load a URL. This process also ensure better compatibility. Moreover, users will be able to upgrade browser in a faster way since testing costs are reduced substantially.
Microsoft has updated ActiveX control blocking feature as part of their commitment to deliver a secure browsing experience. The blocking feature has been also updated to work with Internet Explorer 9 on Windows Vista SP2 and Windows Server 2008 SP2. Moreover, outdated Silverlight ActiveX control will also be blocked in addition to that of Java. If a web page you are browsing attempts to load an outdated version of the Silverlight ActiveX control, you’ll get an outdated ActiveX control blocking notice. Microsoft has deployed the update to the Microsoft hosted XML list and doesn’t require updates to the client.
In addition to the above mentioned updates, Microsoft also released an updated Security Bulletin MS14-065. This update resolves seventeen privately reported vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer.
“Most customers have automatic updating enabled and will not need to take any action because these updates will be downloaded and installed automatically,” mentions Jasika Bawa and Alec Oot, Program Managers, Internet Explorer, Microsoft.
A security update for Adobe Flash player has also been released for Internet Explorer 10 and 11 on supported editions of Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2.
