Python Tools for Visual Studio Team Joins Azure Machine Learning Group

Python Tools for Visual Studio team has officially joined Azure Machine Learning group. Prior to the new development, the team was with Visual Studio.

As part of this new development, Python Tools for Visual Studio will be upgraded with support for data science in addition to general and web programming.

With the help of data science feature, Python Tools for Visual Studio will be upgraded with improved support for IPython, numpy, scipy and Pandas with special emphasis on machine learning.

“We have also updated the Python Azure SDK several times over the past year. It has support for many Azure features such as tables, blobs, service bus and queues, service management, etc. It’s available for MacOS, Windows and Linux.” mentions Shahrokh Mortazavi, Partner PM, Visual Studio Cloud Platform Tools.

Microsoft has added an ML Pack which enables you to work with machine learning very easily. The pack is available as a separate download and ships with relevant templates and a wizard.

ML pack includes a Classifier, Clustering or Regression project templates as shown below

You will be able to easily customize its inputs, algorithms and visualizations for your needs. The wizard displayed in the below figure enables consumption of ML web services from Azure ML in your web apps.
