Google Play Services 6.1 Adds Enhanced Ecommerce, Fit Preview

Google Play Services 6.1 has been released with enhanced ecommerce analytics support in Google Tag Manager. It also ships with new improvements to the Google Drive Android API.

The latest release of Google Play Services also includes a refresh of the Google Fit developer preview to enable you to test your new fitness apps on any Android device.

Some of the other features of Google Play Services 6.1 are mentioned below

  • Material design elements have been incorporated into the File Picker UI
  • Addition of Recent and Starred views
  • setParents() method to organize files and folders

Google Play Services

The new enhanced ecommerce feature included with Google Play Services is an analytics extension designed to provide richer insights into pre-purchase shopping behaviour and into product performance.

Google will be officially rolling out Play Services 6.1 SDK within the next couple of days in addition to detailed documentation.
