PriceBag, India’s leading product discovery and price comparison engine, recently released Mobile Trends 2014 report which outlines the latest trends on the ever evolving mobile phone market in India.

As per the report, as many as 24.68% of users make use of mobile phone with 5 inch screen size. On the other hand, nearly 19% of users still prefer 4 inche mobiles.

In 2014, Micromax launched 11.39% of market share by launching 22 new mobiles followed by 8.23% for Intex. However mobile giant Nokia so far has nearly 7.59% of share among other manufacturers.

Nearly 36% of mobile phones launched in 2014 is priced between 5001-9999 which is more popular among middle class community. The report further states that nearly 89% of mobile phones ship with front camera and 90% of phones include dual-SIM capability.

“Front cameras are now in 88% of the smartphones launched in 2014.  Applications like Snapchat and Skype also require a front camera. This is almost a default feature in every phone launched now”, says Sanjeev, PriceBag.

“Android continues to dominate the mobile world by grabbing 97% of the market share”, mentions the report. Windows Phone and iOS are way behind probably due to huge price for its devices.

The study conducted by Pricebag indicates that nearly 44% of smartphones ships with 1 GB of RAM, which provides smooth working experience.
