Announcing the Telerik Kendo UI R2 2016 Roadmap

Telerik has announced Kendo UI R2 2016 roadmap. Revealed by Stefan Rahnev, Product Manager, Telerik, the Kendo UI R2 2016 is expected to ship with support for Angular 2, React, Bootstrap 4 and SASS.

With the release of Telerik Kendo UI R2 2016, the HTML Editor widget is all set to get a facelift with support for markdown (import and export) and URL auto-detection. Moreover, the Visual Studio Scaffolder for Kendo UI widgets will be extended to support auto code generation for the TreeView, allowing you to apply configuration settings and connect it to data by creating the respective controller-model relation and view from the Scaffolder UI.

Previously released in R1 2016, you can also expect enhancements to Spreadsheet widget, which has been the corner stone for building Excel-like interfaces for business web apps.

The upcoming release of Telerik Kendo UI R2 2016 is expected to provide support for ASP.NET Core 1.0 and MVC 6.
Moreover, a set of Tag Helpers for the ASP.NET MVC server wrappers are also expected to be included with Kendo UI R2 2016.

Telerik will also release a set of predefined Visual Studio Project Templates for UI for ASP.NET MVC with a new Dashboard- like template, based on the Kendo UI App Template definition shipped in R1 2016 and will be available with the R1 2016 SP1 release of the product, due in March.
