Microsoft Azure Certified for IoT program has been announced. This program enable businesses to test and certify IoT devices connected to Azure. Microsoft has already tied up with leading companies such as Beaglebone, Freescale, Intel, Raspberry Pi,, Seeed and Texas Instruments.

Microsoft also announced the public preview of Azure IoT Hub service which is a fully managed service that enables reliable and secure bi-directional communications between millions of IoT devices and an application back end. Azure IoT Hub also offers following in a reliable way

  • Reliable device-to-cloud and cloud-to-device hyper-scale messaging
  • Secure communications using per-device security credentials and access control
  • Device libraries for the most popular languages and platforms

Azure IoT Hub service provides secure and scalable bi-directional communication from the heterogeneous devices to the cloud. The service offers Per-device authentication, secure connectivity, extensive set of device libraries, IoT protocols. It also has an ability to scale millions of simultaneously connected devices, and millions of events per seconds.
